Wine Review

Do Ut Des, 2013, Italy

Dark cherry red colour with a powerful nose of subtle woody and spicy notes and roasted, liquorice and vanilla aromas. This dry red wine shows a pleasant freshness with solid tannins and reveals a full mouth that precedes a lingering finish. Delightful with aubergines and Parmesan pasta, grilled lamb cutlets or cheese (Provolone, Gorgonzola, Brie with truffles).

Dole, 2014, Switzerland

The vineyards of Domaine de Beudon are conducted biodynamically. Dole is made from Pinot Noir, Gamay and Diolinoir. A ruby colour with a hint of orange, aromas of black berries, pepper and an earthiness fill the glass. The palate is ample and juicy, with slightly bitter tannins and a blackberry finish. Enjoyable with fine charcuteries, veal tajine or a cherry clafoutis.

Rouge, 2015, Rhône, France

Pierre André, pioneer of organic culture in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, has handed over the running of the vineyard to his daughter Jacqueline, who has embarked on the path of biodynamics. From century-old vines and traditional winemaking, this wine has a dense ruby colour. On the nose, strawberry, raspberry and red fruits stand out, with notes of liquorice and fine peppers. The palate is lively, full-bodied, structured with a fresh finish. Delicious with a chicken and mushroom risotto, steak with pepper or cheese (Brie de Meaux, Livarot, Roquefort).

FA112 2014, Spain

Dark cherry-red colour and a nose with accents of black fruits, vanilla and toasted notes. This dry red, made from Carignan and Syrah, has a good acidity and tight tannins, embellished with notes of blackberry, cassis, spices and tobacco. It reveals an ample mouth that persists in a black fruit finish. Exquisite with chicken Yakitori, royal paella or a chocolate and raspberry gateau.

Riesling Trocken 2017, Germany

A soft yellow-green colour, a nose dominated by fruity, floral and mineral notes. Lively acidity and flavours of lime, green apple, flowers, freshly cut grass and chalk. On the palate, it offers a supple texture that extends into a fairly long finish. Delightful with Tuna carpaccio, chicken curry, or an apple tart.
