Wine Review

Pauillac 2014, Bordeaux

Château Julia offers a profound and beautiful ruby red colour. The nose exudes notes of red cherries accompanied by slight vanilla touches. The palate is full and sweet with aromas of ripe red fruits. This Pauillac will surprise with its accessibility in its youth. Great with beef fillet, pheasant, lamb, cheese (Beaufort, Epoisses, Saint-Nectaire) or chocolate macaron.

Les Gueulottes 2015, Burgundy

In the Côte d'Or, Claire Naudin produces elegant wines, faithful to their terroir. The hautes-côtes-de-beaune white Les Gueulottes from domain Henri Naudin-Ferrand reveals a fresh and refined profile. On the nose, this Chardonnay oscillates between the citrus flavours and vanilla aromas. The palate develops a very pure fruit expression, intense, with beautiful vivacity. Wonderful with grilled Seabream, salmon and spinach lasagne or creamy cheeses (goats cheese, Brie de Meaux, Gruyére).

Twins Shiraz 2015, Australia

Maverick's Twins Shiraz is a blend of Barossa and Eden Valley Syrah. A very classic and complex nose, between ripe fruit, floral notes and toasted aromas. The mouth delivers these same concentrated flavours and offers a rich but elegant product marked by the sweetness of the tannins. An intense and refined Twins Shiraz, a magnificent and faithful expression of the great Australian Syrah. Pair well with grilled duck with cherries, or a dark chocolate tarte.

2014, Spain

Derived from the wine heritage of the Val do Salnés region, this exceptional Albariño is aged for 27 months in stainless steel vats to give an aromatic and complex profile. Generous in fruity and herbaceous notes, its mouth is creamy with a long finish. Lovely with squid ink pasta or oysters.

Guidalberto 2013, Italy

Dominated by the Bordeaux grape varities, (Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon 80%), this vintage 2013 opens on a bouquet of black fruits and red fruits with a pleasant touch of freshness (liquorice) and woody notes. On the palate a youthful wine delivers intense and tonic flavours and a powerful structure. Pair it with Tandoori chicken, pizza Mediterranean or cheeses (Brie, Beaufort, Comté).
