Inspired by: "Michael Winterbottom and the film Wonderland. I used to watch it all the time when I was a teenager. And Gina McKee is amazing."

Favourite skill learned on set: "Horse riding. I'm learning at the moment on a Spanish horse called Mandito. He's very sparky and unpredictable, but gorgeous."

Took up acting because: "I started out writing children's plays with two school friends when I was 17. We took one up to the Edinburgh Festival fringe. I was acting in it and that was when I was signed."

Inspired by: "My older sister. She works ridiculously long hours in the city and is such a powerhouse."

Took up acting because: "My mother works in production and my dad was a director, so I grew up with it. Dad now directs all the films at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art and teaches screen acting. When I went there, I was taught by him, which was strange."
First job: "Dickensian with Pauline Collins and Caroline Quentin. I felt very lucky to have that as my first gig."
Inspired by: "Anyone who as a go and tries to make a career out of acting."

Favourite skill learned on set: !I've yet to do a job where they teach you a specific skill, but I have learned to turn up on time."

First Job: "Playing a couple pf roles in a production of Antony & Cleopatra with Kim Cattrall in Liverpool. She is so sophisticated. She's also very generous. She bought a table-tennis table and a bat for everyone to play with backstage."
Inspired by: "Micharl Fassbender. he's someone who doesn't choose easy roles and in interested in the dark side of humanity. He's an actor's actor."
Three words that best describe you: "Earthy, playful, optimistic."
Favourite skill learned on set: "Working with Jackie Chan's team to learn martial arts for a film called The Foreigner. I've carried on training. I really enjoy it."

Took up acting because: "Iwas a shy child and it was a relief to be able to be someone other than myself. I still can't believe I get to do something so amazing for a job."
First job: "I was at drama school and I was allowed to leave early to do a production of Romeo & Juliet at the Leicester Square Theatre. From there I got signed."
Inspired by: "My mum. She believes that stories are very important and people need to be amused."

Favourite skill learned on set: "I've just finished filming The Woman in White and my character plays the piano. So the producer installed a piano in my flat and a teacher taught me some Mozart."

Took up acting because: "It's in the blood. My grandfather and both my parents are actors but they really didn't want me to go into it because they know how brutal it can be."
First job: "Acting in a play I wrote with my dad called A Level Playing Field about the pressure kids are put under to achieve good A-level results. That led to me being cast in How to Talk to Girls at Parties with Nicole Kidman. Working with her was like walking into a dream."
Inspired by: "I love art, so David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Turner and Van Gogh."
Three words that best describe you: "Headstrong, loud, upbeat."
Favourite skill learned on set: "How to ride a bike with three people on it, which I did for How to Talk to Girls at Parties. It doesn't sound difficult, but it took us two weeks.
