Wine Review

2008, Bordeaux

Under the reflections of the beautiful ruby colour of the Château Berliquet, one concentrates on the nose of spices and nuances of black fruits. The elegance of form and flavour of Château Berliquet gives a beautiful tactile quality, followed by a sweet and tannic aftertaste with hints of Sichuan peppercorns. A great match with grilled sea fish, confit d’oie, chocolate and raspberry tartlets.

Champs Perdrix 2013, Burgundy

Domain Bruno Clair in the Côte de Nuits produces a Pinot Noir wine marked by elegance. The Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix displays a classic character: good density, roundness, fine tannins, and reveals a beautiful harmony. Already tasting good, it will evolve over several years to reveal all the finesse of Pinot Noir. Excellent with venison steak, cheese (Bleu-de-Bresse, Saint-Nectaire)

2014, Languedoc

Domain de Montcalmès red wine is a wine of power and is, at the same time, gourmand and silky; qualities which express themselves very well from a young age. Very rich, however, built on very smooth tannins, it unfolds majestically and offers a wonderful fruit, both ripe and fresh, very representative of the best successes of the terroirs of the Terrasses du Larzac. This is certainly one of the great successes of Frédéric Pourtalié, the very talented winegrower and winemaker of the estate of Montcalmès. Pair it with roast lamb, tarte Tatin or chocolate mille-feuille.

Grands-Monts 2012, Loire

This cuvée Grand-Mont from the Bourgueil appellation has an intense deep red colour. The nose reveals aromas of fresh fruit, specifically of blackberry and blueberry mixed with sweet spices and cedar. The palate is fresh, elegant, with a pure and digestible fruit. The wine envelops the palate with delicacy and gives an amazing length. Superb with fish on skewers, guinea fowl, breast of partridge, cheese (Coulommiers, Livarot).

Champin Le Seigneur 2015, Rhone

Champin Le Seigneur 2015 from domain Jean-Michel Gerin comes from several terroirs in the north of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. A gourmet wine with lots of finesse, it offers a bouquet of red fruit and on the palate, a sweetness like no other. Rich and well balanced, the length is magnificent. To be enjoyed with fresh figs with prosciutto, lamb curry and cheese (Comté, Gruyére, Roquefort).
