The Quimera of Achaval Ferrer is a blend of Bordeaux varietals decorated with a touch of very local Malbec. The small yields and the venerable age of the vines produce an intense, fragrant wine, with nuanced aromas of ripe black berries and cocoa. Fleshy, velvety, complex, Quimera 2011 offers all the fullness and roundness of the great reds of Mendoza! Pair it with roasted loin of venison with celeriac, Maroilles cheese or a caramel mouse.
This Chenin Blanc from South Africa is pale yellow in colour. On the nose, there is a bouquet full of freshness, melon, lemon, honey and almond. It’s a rich wine with a long finish that ends with a nutty aroma. A tonic, fresh and elegant wine that already shows a lot of complexity. Delicious with pork and mushroom terrine, roasted quail with grilled artichokes and lemon parfait.
Leah is named after Michael Seresin's daughter, a wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir. The nose releases aromas of berries mixed with notes of spices and aromatic plants. The 2014 is concentrated with fine tannins and is characterised by great elegance. An excellent match for duck liver parfait with orange chutney, roast saddle of rabbit with crispy potatoes or a pecan nut parfait.
Penfold's 389, is a wonderful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from the vineyard of Peter Gago and his team. The structure and body of the wine are robust thanks to the Cabernet grapes while the Shiraz brings the suppleness and intensity of the fruit. A true icon of Australian wine! Wonderful with caramelised veal sweetbreads, grilled pigeon breasts or black berry mille-feuille.
